About Us
Heritage Handcrafts began in late 1989 as a way for a mom to stay home with her two young children and a third baby on the way.

Paula Hallinan's desire was to be at home while her three children were growing up and to share her love of crafts with her family. Being home with her children allowed her to guide them and teach them about their heritage, thus the name Heritage Handcrafts.

Originally the business showcased Paula's love of quilting/fabric crafts and grew to incorporate metal stencils with paints, inks, stationery and scrapbooks. Paula's husband, John encouraged and helped her to grow the business. As her children grew, so did the business. In the beginning, there were only 60 brass stencil designs and has grown to around 1,000 stencils, a line of Heritage Handcrafts Dimensional Paints, matching inks, light boxes, emboss-able metals, and tools.

Inspiration for the stencil designs has been Paula's family’s interests (sports and fashion), her faith, her love of gardening and family travels. Many of the doors and windows were inspired by the churches, castles and palaces in Europe. Other designs have been suggested by her customers. If you have an idea for a new design, please let us know!

Paula’s projects have been featured in rubber stamp & scrapbook magazine articles and on numerous TV shows in the US and Europe. The TV shows include DIY Network (Do It Yourself - Scrapbooks/Stationery), Scrapbook Treasures (PBS), Shop at Home, Home Shopping Network, and Ideal World/Create and Craft in the UK.

The picture above was taken of Paula's family- all grown up in November 2005 here in beautiful Colorado. Just eight months after this picture was taken, John, only 49 years old passed away from cancer. The family business continues today. We miss John but continue vision that he shared and helped create for our business and in our lives. We realize that each day is a blessing and try to live it to the fullest!
